Sometimes Bible translations convey unintended humor. For example, in describing the fatal effect of the angel of the Lord's visit upon the Assyrian encampment against Jerusalem, the Authorized (King James) Version reports concerning those troops, "When they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses" (2 Kings 19:35c). In this passage in Hebrews, the author urges the readers to motivate one another to do commendable things (v. 24).
