The name God gives to...

The name God gives to Moses at the sight of the burning bush, “I Am Who I Am” is a name of life. Although the accurate translation of Yahweh is not known, we do know that it comes from the verb “to live.” And God says to Moses in this text that “I am to be remembered throughout all generations.” Remembering is an important word for the Hebrews. It means to bring into the present a past action. It is not sentimental, nor reflective at all. It makes present the living thing which has gone on before.
