Irish playwright Oscar Wilde wrote in "The Picture of Dorian Gray" this rather remarkable statement; "I can believe anything, provided it is incredible."
The scriptures are replete with incredible events. Let us hasten to add, however, that what is judged by human capacities to be incredible is but God's common economy. We will allow that. The crunch comes when we are asked to "believe" what we have allowed. Verbal assent is not always accompanied by mental confirmation.
