When I was a child during the early '60s, stores and businesses closed on Good Friday afternoon. Churches held services from noon until 3 p.m. as a way to remember Jesus suffering on the cross. In this age of 24/7 consumer convenience, stores and businesses rarely close and churches find the attendance at Good Friday afternoon services dwindling.
