The Xerox Research Center of Canada has recently developed an "erasable paper"
system. The goal is to advance "green" office procedures by reusing copy paper multiple
times.
Researchers have found that as many as half the pieces of paper run through modern
copiers are discarded just a day or two afterward. Imagine a copy paper that would hold
its text or images for just sixteen hours, after which the paper would revert to a blank
state and could be reused. That's what the new Xerox system does.
