The farmers of an area...
The farmers of an area were in the middle of a drought. If they didn’t do something soon, their fields would wither and die where they stood. “If only we could move our fields down by the river,” one farmer moaned. “Why didn’t we plant closer to water?” Another farmer had an idea. “We can’t take our crops to the water,” he said, “but we can bring water to our crops.” The next day, the farmers brought their shovels and began to dig. They dug a huge network of ditches and actually diverted a nearby river to flow among their fields.
