For November 24, 2019:
  • Shepherds Of Malfeasance by Dean Feldmeyer — A true and effective leader, said John Quincy Adams, is someone whose actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more. The prophet, Jeremiah, would have agreed.
  • Second Thoughts: Small Wonder(s) by Tom Willadsen — Once Zechariah regains his speech, his first words are a song of praise to God — not a complaint, like many people might have.

Jeremiah 23:1-6
Sixteenth century preacher and reformer Hugh Latimer may provide a sterling example of accountability and responsibility. Latimer was thought of as a great preacher and, one day, was called to preach before the King Henry VIII of England. As he thought about his great responsibility to bring a message before the king, he realized that the message that God laid on his heart was not the message that the king would want to hear.

Who can tell me what a king or queen wears on their head? (children respond)

Yes, that’s right. Kings and queens wear crowns like this: (show and wear a crown or place a crown upon a volunteer child’s head)

The Village Shepherd

Janice B. Scott
As Newton's Third Law of Motion tells us, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This seems to be true in the field of human relationships as well as in the field of physics, although in the field of relationships sometimes the reaction may be a little more than equal. Thus there are always tragic cases in the media where those who have been spurned by their lovers murder the lovers in revenge, a reaction that seems somewhat over the top.

When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified Jesus there with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. [Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing."] And they cast lots to divide his clothing.
